POSITION: Youth Services Worker
REPORTS TO: Director of Youth Services
JOB TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must provide appropriate role model behavior for youth.
- Monitors daily activities and ensures accurate and complete records.
- Supervises and assists youth daily, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Performs all duties in compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, and licensing requirements.
- Identifies individual behavior problems and needs of youth and prepares daily report on each youth to Director of Youth’s Services or Counselor.
- Identifies and confers with Human Service Professional (HSP) any health problems of individual youth; provides transportation to medical facilities, prepares and submits reports in compliance with standard operating procedures and policies.
- Dispenses prescription and non-prescription medication as outlined in the medical care policy.
- Provides transportation to school, appointments and other locations as needed.
- Maintains the facility in a neat and orderly manner. (See list of Housekeeping Duties)
- Identifies and reports needed repairs for facility to Executive Director.
- Employs a nurturing attitude toward youth, ensuring availability while on duty.
- Administers acceptable disciplinary procedure as outlined in policy and procedures.
- Maintains close contact with Executive Director and Director of Youth’s Services providing information on status of all areas of responsibility.
- Attends staff meetings and training as required.
- Assists with meal preparation for breakfast and lunch during weekdays and all meals on weekends.
- Assists with household duties as outlined in policy and procedures.
- Monitor homework/study hall.
- Performs duties within licensing requirements and the Open Door Home Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director or the Director of Youth’s Services.
- Performs bed checks (night shift) – fifteen (15) minute review.
- Practice fire drills – 6 daytime annually & 6 nighttime annually.
NOTE: Included in the duties of your job is the requirement that from time to time you may be required to work overtime as may be directed by the Director of Youth’s Services and/or the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Requirement: High School diploma or equivalent (GED). College degree in related field is preferred. Experience in a residential setting for adolescents and teens or related area is preferred.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
- Must have no criminal history record convictions of misdemeanor or felony offenses from any state.
- Must pass a medical examination to include a level ten (10) drug screen.
- Must be able to relate to and work well with youth and adults.
- Must possess organizational and administrative skills.
- Must be able to remain calm and respond quickly in emergency and/or crisis situations.
- Must provide appropriate role model behavior for youth.
Job Type: Full-time
