Summary
The Finance and Systems Manager will join Open Doors team to manage daily financial management/bookkeeping tasks, reporting and systems management duties. The position will be vital in ensuring an effective administration of the area’s trusted low-barrier shelter and drop-in center.
The position will join a well-rounded team of leaders and work closely with various internal and external stakeholders. Since 2007, Open Doors had served as Harrisonburg and Rockingham County’s only low-barrier provider, and is dedicated to serving all with dignity, compassion, and kindness.
Duties
Finance:
● Record donations
● Collaborate with Development Director to send quarterly/annual acknowledgements
● Responsible for completing monthly reconciliations; works with Treasurer and Accountant
● Collaborate with Executive Director and Finance Committee to prepare annual budget
● Monitors compliance with internal financial management policies and approved budget
● Responsible for all account receivables and payables
● Holistically monitors financial performance of organization
● Collaborate with Executive Director and Development Director on organizational calendar
Systems:
● Responsible for a variety of data entry tasks
● Manages organization’s case management system
● Manages organization’s development software (Little Green Light and Givebutter)
● Serves as organizations Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) administrator
● Assist with training team members and volunteers on system function and troubleshooting
Data & Reporting:
● Complete contractual and grant reporting requirements
● Assist with internal monitoring and evaluation projects
● Provide Executive Director with reports as requested
Other Responsibilities
● Manage organizational mail
● Assist Executive Director with procurement tasks as necessary
● Assist Executive Director with ensuring compliance with best practices and law
Board Relations
● Serves as staff liaison to Finance Committee
● Attends monthly board meeting as necessary
● Assist with leadership on-call rotation (typically one night per week)
Skills & Qualifications
- 1 – 2 years in reporting and data management required
- 1 – 2 years in financial management required
- 1 – 2 years in project management preferred
- Bachelor’s in business, public administration, finance or related field preferred
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience with QuickBooks, LGL, Givebutter, and Microsoft Suite preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
