We are seeking a Licensed Social Worker that will work directly with Families of incarcerated clients who are at Rose M. Singer by engaging with them, assessing their needs, developing service plans, making referrals, providing advocacy, counseling, reassessment, and summarizing their exit. The Licensed Social Worker will report to the Program Coordinator of Visiting and Family Assistance Program.
This is a 1 year contract role with the possibility of extension
Salary: $85,000 - $92,000
Requirements
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for providing trauma-informed therapy both to women who re-entered into the community and their families with a focus on their children in the community
- Provide supervision to the facility based social worker
- Will evaluate participants to develop a service plan and provide services to support their service plan
- Conduct individual/group therapeutic services to women upon release to the community from RIkers Island and State Prison.
- Maintain familiarity with program resources available on- and off-site
- Coordinate client services with mental health, medical, employment, educational and other social service providers
- Provide individual/family therapeutic services, evaluate family needs to develop interventions, and support treatment strategies.
- Conducting, Review and sign off on psycho-social assessments
- Communicate and collaborate with client support team and service providers to enhance engagement and ensure quality of service
- Address clients concerns and goals while maintaining constant communications with the clients
- Conduct regular case conferences with clients and service providers, as required
- Complete program reports
- Hybrid Position to collaborate with co-workers, families and other providers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work required
- New York State LMSW certification required
- 5 years of clinical social work experience

- Proven work experience as a social worker
- Working knowledge of social theories and practices
- Ability to build and maintain professional helping relationships
- Ability to relate and communicate with diverse population and groups
- Resilience along with ability to assess situations
- Must have the flexibility to work some evenings as needed
- Excellent and demonstrated writing ability
- Engaging personality and detailed oriented skills are essential.
- Strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills are necessary
