Job Summary:

OMC, a rural hospital dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services to underserved communities, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychotherapist to join our behavioral health team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide mental health support to individuals, families, and groups, with a focus on therapy and counseling. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy to patients experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, and relationship issues.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and other relevant approaches.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ mental health needs, including psychological, emotional, and behavioral evaluations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, setting therapeutic goals and tracking progress.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support for patients in acute distress, including facilitating referrals to higher levels of care when necessary.
  • Offer psychoeducation to patients and families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and healthy communication skills.
  • Provide counseling services for individuals, couples, and families dealing with challenges such as trauma, addiction, relationship issues, and life transitions.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate clinical records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Participate in community outreach programs focused on mental health education, wellness initiatives, and promoting mental health awareness in the rural community.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and best practices in providing psychotherapy services.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), or related field.
  • Valid, unrestricted license to practice as a Psychotherapist (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) in Wisconsin.
  • Strong experience in providing psychotherapy and mental health counseling in individual, group, and family settings.
  • Familiarity with a range of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and family systems therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patients and their families.
  • Experience working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach to therapy and mental health care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong cultural competency, particularly in providing care to underserved populations in a rural setting.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in rural or underserved communities.
  • Knowledge of teletherapy/telehealth practices (preferred).
  • Interest in community-based mental health initiatives and outreach.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
