What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ammonia Refrigeration Technician - 2nd shift position at OSI?
Job Responsibilities
- Start process ammonia system daily.
- Provide technical and mechanical support to the Ammonia System and Mechanical room.
- Work with Safety Supervisor in managing and auditing the PSM and RMP programs.
- Work with Safety Supervisor to define the scope of these programs and communicate roles and responsibilities to all involved personnel.
- Work with Safety Supervisor to ensure that Management of Change (MOC) and Process Hazard Analysis are conducted as needed for all plant process modifications and projects.
- Work with Safety supervisor to update Process Safety Information for all process related modifications.
- Assist Safety Supervisor with incident investigations required by PSM and RMP programs.
- Ensure that the training requirements of both programs are met in a timely manner.
- Ensure that revalidations of the PHA’s are conducted on time, by an independent contractor.
- Ensure that all deadlines such as Annual Certification of Operating and Maintenance procedures are met.
- Ensure Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance programs meet the PSM and RMP requirements.
- Assists in determining adequate maintenance training programs, coordinate with maintenance groups to ensure process reliability, and ensures the development and implementation of a full preventive maintenance program.
- Operate mechanical room boiler, as necessary.
- Establish operational and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Maintain mechanical room records.
- Perform duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
Experience & Skills
- Training in mechanical engineering, refrigeration, or related skill
- Two to three years manufacturing experience, preferably in the food industry
- Five years or more experience working in the vocational trades such as HVAC, electrical, electronics, mechanical.
Education
- Technical school degree or equivalent trade training or knowledge.
Work Environment
- Work is generally performed within a manufacturing environment subjected to temperatures of cold and warm along with wearing the proper PPE, with standard office equipment available along with plant manufacturing environment.
