What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Maintenance Carpenter position at OTA?
Responsibilities and Tasks
The Carpenter will be responsible for the completion of maintenance and repair services that include but are not limited to the following:
Carpentry and Masonry
Floors, tiles, carpet, baseboards, walls, ceilings, trim, doors, stairs, shades, cabinets, shutters, molding, roofing, gutters, sidewalks, window and glass replacement, screens, pavers/concrete repairs, and signs
Painting
Fresh coat rotational upkeep painting and touch up of station amenities, offices, hallways, and safety markings on right of way/train yard, including graffiti abatement.
Station Repairs, Maintenance shop repairs, and Storage Building repair
Maintenance and repairs of all station amenities. Which include but are not limited to Trash cans, shelters, parking spaces, benches, high-blocks, railings (repair/painting), shelters (frame/glass installation)
Maintenance and repairs of all Light Rail facilities. Which include but are not limited to Light Rail station, offices, restrooms, and storage buildings.
Equipment and Furnishings
Minor modification and relocation of modular furniture
Minor repairs to desks, chairs, and cabinets.
Door Repairs
Release jammed doors, adjust/replace as required, locks, closers, panic hardware, thresholds, and/or weather stripping.
Preventative Maintenance
Preventive maintenance consists of inspections and repairs. Complete all identified preventative maintenance inspections. This includes but is not limited to safety worker inspections, eye wash station inspections, environmental/housekeeping inspections, visual oil/grease tank inspections, lighting inspections, general safety/OSHA inspections, and general station inspections. The contractor shall correct all found deficiencies. Preventive Maintenance shall be performed daily
Window Glazing
Window glazing contributes to the thermal performance of a window and its impact resistance. Window hardware repair/replacement.
Signage Installation/Removal
Install and repair signage on an as-needed basis, including office, wayfinding, right of way, station, machine lockout placards, and fire protection signs.
