Job Summary
Senior Field Examiners will review the books and records of clients and prospects to verify OCFs collateral position and confirm accuracy of the financial information and reporting. A comprehensive written report will be completed with the information gathered and analyzed of the financial information reviewed. Also, recommendations will be made as to the monitoring and potential risks of a current or proposed deal. Senior Field Examiners are also expected to assist with field training for Junior and Staff Field Examiners. All duties performed will be done in a professional manner.
Primary Responsibilities
Verify the existence and analyze the performance of client/prospects collateral.
Verify the accuracy of the client/prospects books and records.
Analyze client/prospects reporting to lender.
Verify credit facility is managed in adherence to approved structure.
Perform field exams at prospective borrowers place of business.
Conduct exams of work out transactions and recommend exit strategies to Senior Management.
Spread and analyze client/prospects financial statements to assess financial performance, cash flow and potential collateral issues.
Communicate regularly with Underwriting/Credit prior, during and after the field exam.
Prepare a clear and concise written report summarizing field exam results and recommendations.
Assist with the training of Junior and Staff Field Examiners.
Schedule recurring and prospect field exams with clients and prospects.
Track time spent working on an exam to ensure proper billing to the client/prospects.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Field Exam team members are proactive, process-oriented, analytical, creative and highly engaged with their work, their team members and their internal and external clients. Successful team members are detail-oriented, effective communicators, and are successful in handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree is required; a concentration in accounting or finance is preferred.
2 to 3 years experience as field examiner in the Asset Based Lending or Factoring area required.
Heavy travel required. Approximately 60% of the year requires travel. Travel is defined as nights away from home (typically Monday thru Thursday).
