Job Summary
Responsible for Daily Finished Goods Inspections (Net Weight, Label Reconciliation, Retail Seal Bottle Checks, etc.). Conducts Pre-Op and Post-Op Inspections while complying with Food Safety Programs (Good Manufacturing Processes [GMP], SOP, SSOP & HACCP, as applies) and maintaining a clean and organized workplace. Responsible for Food Defense. Conform to Food Safety Culture.
Major Responsibilities
- Assist Quality Control Manager by conducting pre-op and post-op verifications (Line Clearance, Organic, Allergen, ATP Swabbing, etc.) as necessary
- Conducts inspections to ensure standard specifications and customer requirements conform (Net Weight, Label Reconciliation, Retail Seal Bottle Checks, etc.)
- Observes during routine inspections for any deviations; will report any deviations to Department Heads/Leads (and Quality Control Manager) to ensure Department Heads/Leads address deviations and implement C.A.R. as necessary
- Responsible for assuring that microbiological testing of Blend Production batches is accomplished in a timely manner and assuring Production samples (including Daily Magnet / Metal Detector findings) are pulled as needed
- Quality Control Information Data Entry, Filing & Organization
- Must be cross trained with “Quality Control Technician” responsibilities
- Perform any other duties as requested by Management
- Performs other Customer Service, Sales or Purchasing duties as needed
Preferred Kowledge and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent or minimum two years’ related experience.
- Knowledge of food safety principles, including GMP and HACCP.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Strong Communication skills
- B.S. in Food Science / Chemistry or related field preferred.
- Preferably experience working in industry regulated by FDA
