Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic After School Counselors to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for supervising and engaging children in a variety of activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting a positive and nurturing environment. Hours 2:00-6:30pm
Responsibilities: -
· Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times
· Plan and implement engaging activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational programs
· Assist with homework and academic support as needed
· Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
· Maintain a clean and organized environment
· Manage behavior and enforce rules in a consistent and fair manner
· Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and any concerns
· Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education, child development, or a related field is a plus but not required
Experience working with children in a group setting, such as a school, daycare, camp, or recreational program –
Strong communication and interpersonal skills –
Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities –
First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain –
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team –
Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude –
Ability to pass a Level 2 background check
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or a related field. Previous experience as an after school counselor or similar role - Bilingual in English and Spanish
Work Schedule: - Part-time position, Monday to Friday, approximately 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM
