About the Role:
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Maintenance Department to meet and exceed the company’s goals. Your primary objective will be to minimize downtime, enhance plant efficiencies, and ensure the safety of our operations. You’ll supervise a dedicated team, oversee all maintenance activities, and collaborate with various departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and is committed to fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Supervision: Provide strong leadership to the Maintenance Department, overseeing daily activities, staff scheduling, and task assignments. Your guidance will ensure that the team operates efficiently and effectively, meeting the company’s objectives.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing machinery performance and production processes. Collaborate with supervisors and production personnel to identify areas for improvement and execute strategic plans.
- Preventative Maintenance: Schedule and manage preventative maintenance for all machinery, ensuring optimal performance and reducing unexpected downtime.
- Environmental Compliance: Maintain all environmental reporting for the Walworth County Metropolitan Sewerage District on a semi-annual basis and for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) annually. Your diligence will ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Facility Management: Maintain CAD layouts of the facility to optimize process flow and support facility management activities, including building maintenance, snow removal, and lawn care.
- Safety Management: Partner with HR to lead the Plant Safety Program, including conducting Safety Committee meetings, overseeing monthly safety training, and managing the Safety Plan. Your commitment to safety will be instrumental in creating a secure work environment.
- Vendor and Contractor Relations: Work with outside vendors and contractors as needed to support maintenance and safety initiatives. Your ability to manage these relationships will contribute to the seamless operation of the plant.
- Troubleshooting: Demonstrate your technical expertise by troubleshooting complex machinery, equipment, and process issues. Your problem-solving skills will be key in maintaining uninterrupted production.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically supervising a Maintenance Department, is required. Your experience will enable you to effectively lead and develop your team.
- Technical Skills: Strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and a team-oriented mindset are essential. You should be adept at developing, implementing, monitoring, and controlling functional improvement plans.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Maintenance is preferred. Candidates with an Associate’s degree or supervisory training combined with relevant management experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Leadership: A proven ability to lead and support a team, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
