Palo Verde Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Services to join our team!
The Director of Inpatient Clinical Services is a key member of the Palo Verde leadership team who supervises social work staff and ensures that in-services and trainings are provided on a regular basis, develops and analyzes the effectiveness of programming. Ensures all Performance Improvement standards are monitored and feedback given to appropriate staff. Coordinates student intern placements. Assists in the hiring and evaluation of social work staff. Interfaces with staff at all levels.
Directly supervises inpatient Social Services, and recreational employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to various populations including children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients in an outpatient and partial hospital setting.
Education: Master's degree in social, behavioral or mental health services field from an accredited college or university.
Credentials: Licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Examiners as an LCSW or Clinical Psychologist
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a program director or higher-level position. Experience with overseeing services in an outpatient environment, preferably in mental health. Telehealth experience is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to demonstrate special training, knowledge and skills specific to age groups, as well as job and/or program specific competency within the first three (3) months of training, and annually thereafter.
- Must be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x-ray upon hire; PPD skin test required annually or chest x-ray every 4 years thereafter.
- Must obtain and maintain a Class 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance
