Palos Verdes Golf Club is a private club located in the middle of an 800-acre parkland preserve overlooking Santa Monica Bay with ocean views visible from several holes. Established in 1924, the golf course has long been referred to as "a hidden gem" and the clubhouse is a designated historical building by the Palos Verdes Historical Society.

Essential duties include but are not limited to :
Approach all interaction with Members, guests, and colleagues in a courteous, service-oriented mannerRemain attentive, friendly, helpful, courteous, and respectful to Members, guests, managers and fellow employees at all timesKnow assigned service area upon the start of each shift and pay close attention to the activity within your service areaPromptly greet guests as they are seated, introduce yourself providing your first name; assist by pulling out chairs and lapping napkinsKnow and be able to communicate all cocktails, wine, and beer on menus and detailed descriptions of eachKnow and be able to communicate all breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert menu items, their ingredients, and detailed descriptions of each; know and be able to communicate daily specialsEngage in actively upselling food menu items and beveragesTake orders from guests, including large parties, with accuracy and appropriately timedProcess ordered items, guests' checks, and payments through computer POS system accurately and in an organized mannerMaintain awareness of all table and position numbers for each shiftMonitor and observe Member and guests dining experience; attend to tables with appropriate manners and frequency between coursesEvenly attend to a large volume of guests and / or multiple tables at once with finessePromptly deliver food and beverages to guests from service area, kitchen, and bar as required or requested and ensure food and beverages are delivered at appropriate timesEnsure guests' food and beverage items are all accounted for and accurate as they receive them, including special ordersRespond promptly and politely to guest requests and communicate guest requests to management when necessaryThank Members and guests as they are leaving and invite them to returnComplete daily opening and closing duties and cleaning according to established side workKeep all work areas and server stations clean and properly stockedCommunicate with co-workers and management throughout shift to ensure efficiency of serviceEnsure overall guest satisfaction; communicate all guests' feedback promptly to managementAttend pre-shift meetings, trainings, and all staff meetings as required / requestedFollow all Club policies, systems, controls and proceduresQualifications & Skills :
English / Spanish bilingual ability a plusExcellent Member and guest-relation communication skillsBasic knowledge of POS systems; ClubEssential experience preferredDynamic outgoing personality; articulate, friendly, punctual, and proactiveHigh level of client services, professionalism, and attention to detail; professional appearance appropriate for a premier country clubExperience & Education :
Minimum two years' Server and / or food service experience in an upscale restaurant environment; fine dining and / or country club experience highly preferredHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic knowledge of food and beverage operationsServ-Safe certifiedRBS certifiedBarista experience preferredCPR certified a plusSchedule Availability : Day time shifts, weekends, special events and evenings as needed
