What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Hobby Sales position at Panini America?
Direct and manage the long-range relationships with Panini America’s hobby distributors, direct hobby retailer store fronts, and international hobby clients, maximizing sales opportunities and minimizing exposure. Support the VP of Sales in providing leadership and mentoring to Panini America Hobby Sales Team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sales planning, forecasting and inventory management.
- Travel frequently to meet with customers, partners, dealers and distributors.
- May include international travel to Hong Kong, China, Europe and Canada.
- Create and implement allocation strategies, sales policies, and product solicitations.
- Compile accurate and timely reports for Panini’s Executive team on current market conditions and trends.
- Manage multiple direct reports.
- Clearly communicate to other Hobby Sales team members department strategy, goals and expectations.
- Work closely with Product Development, Marketing, Production and Finance when developing new product ideas.
- Develop presentations for potential licensing partners; conduct market analysis and devise strategies for how Panini can potentially implement their new business.
- Collaborate with online sales in pricing, promotion and go-to-market strategies
- Planning, promotion & execution of Hobby Marketing strategies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Distribution Model Knowledge & Experience.
- Unique Hobby Experience at every level – Shop, Distributor and Breaker.
- Key account management.
- Skilled in key areas for sales growth-account management, forecasting, promotions, Public relations, inventory control and budgeting.
- Strong computer skills and experience working with applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
Education &/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing preferred.
- Previous sales experience.
- Knowledgeable about hobby market and products.
- At least seven years of sales experience in collectibles industry.
- Provide clear & concise written & verbal communication.
