Position Overview

We are looking for a Civil Engineer/Project Manager to join our team and oversee the planning, design, entitlement and construction of various projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of the projects, as well as managing the staff, consultants, and stakeholders involved. You will also provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to other engineers, designers and technicians. This role also offers the flexibility to work from our Grand Rapids or Scottsdale office, or remotely in our Idaho and Northern Arizona markets. The ideal candidate will be based in Northern Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design/engineer, and manage the execution of civil engineering projects, such as land/site development, roads, water supply systems, sewer collection system and drainage systems.
• Prepare and review project proposals, contracts, budgets, schedules, specifications, drawings, and reports.
• Coordinate and communicate with internal and external parties, such as clients, contractors, consultants, regulators, and public agencies.
• Monitor and control the progress, quality, and performance of the projects, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, managing expectations and providing regular updates on project status, milestones and deliverables.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues and manage changes and conflicts.
• Conduct site inspections/observations to check compliance with permitted design drawings and provide technical support and solutions to field staff and contractors.
• Lead and motivate a project team, providing guidance, mentoring and coaching to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Foster collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting communication, teamwork and knowledge sharing among team members.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the engineering processes, methods, and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering and project management, preferably in the land development sector.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex and large-scale projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
• Proficient in using various engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, etc.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.
