Lake Compounce Campground - Seasonal Housekeeping Supervisor
Roles & Responsibilities
The Housekeeping Supervisor will assist in the supervision of the housekeeping team members and various areas located in the Lake Compounce Campground. This position directly supports the Operations Manager - Lodging by ensuring efficient operation of the department which provides a positive guest experience.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Supports Operations Manager - Lodging with assigned duties and assists with overseeing the daily operations of other Housekeeping Team Members
- Assists with timekeeping for hourly Housekeeping Team Members
- Finishes all daily tasks within the given timeframe based off the minutes per room average, which will be determined by the number of rooms to clean each day
- Prepares all areas of guestrooms for next arrivals by completing the following duties that include but are not limited to:
- Clean and disinfect all areas of guestrooms and bathrooms,
- Replace bathroom and bed linens as dictated by brand standards,
- Make the beds as dictated by brand standards,
- Remove trash and vacuum,
- Clean bathroom (Tile, tub, walls, sink and floor),
- Empty all contents from refrigerators,
- Wipe down tables,
- Restore sofa beds if applicable,
- Replace or add required supplies,
- Stocks cart with necessary linens and supplies, keeps cart organized as dictated by standards
- Provides exceptional guest service by treating all guests with courtesy and a smile
- Reports room status and maintenance problems accurately and timely
- Maintains cart and bumpers so that damage to walls and doors is avoided
- Performs basic maintenance skills such as plunging toilets, changing light bulbs, removing debris from tub drains
- Properly handles, labels, stocks and stores chemicals and cleaning supplies
- Protects guest belongings, turns in lost and found items immediately
- Completes projects directed by supervisor
- Additional duties as assigned
- No education requirements for this position
- Minimum of 6 months of housekeeping experience is required.
- Minimum of 6 months of previous supervisory experience would be a plus
- Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies
- Must possess excellent customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to promptly follow up on guest concerns
- Ability to address conflict calmly and without negative emotion
- Ability to address multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail, to quickly notice objects and areas around the property that require attention
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to kneel, stoop, or twist for long periods of time
- Frequent bending, squatting and reaching above shoulders
- Ability to withstand heat and humidity in certain areas of the hotel
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
- Ability to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
- Frequent interaction with all outdoor and indoor areas of the hotel property
- Exposure to the variable outside and inside temperatures, including high heat, cold, humidity, dust, rain, and other weather conditions
- Subject to dust and dirt
- Subject to constant repetitive motion
- Subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reprioritize activities
- Subject to the handling of and exposure to chemicals, detergents, and cleaners
- Subject to exposure to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE is required in these situations
