EMT Supervisors, in coordination with HSE Senior Supervisor, are responsible for the park's overall safety, and EMS Response. Ensuring compliance with all local, state, federal standards and all policies/procedures established by Palace/PQR. EMT Supervisor will continuously exemplify quality leadership for the EMS/safety team and provide oversight and accountability. Additional responsibilities include assisting in emergency situations and assisting in the oversight of the seasonal safety department team members and daily operation.

Roles & Responsibilities

EMT Supervisor will continuously exemplify quality leadership for the EMS/safety team and provide oversight and accountability. Duties And Responsibilities
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of the EMT, First Aid and/or Safety teams, along with any other assigned departments
- Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Lake Compounce’s core values
- Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests.
- Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members
- Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all EMT and First Aid positions and backfill these positions when needed
- Train team members on how to safely and successfully perform their jobs
- Participate in coaching, counseling, performance reviews, and disciplinary sessions for team members who face escalated disciplinary action
- Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with Connecticut law
- Actively schedule assigned team members to ensure adequate staffing levels are being achieved to support daily operation.
- Assist with timekeeping for all assigned hourly team members
- Respond to call-outs from dispatcher Assess patients' conditions and responsiveness to interventions
- Assess nature and extent of emergency situations, and need for additional assistance
- Mitigate incidents by helping to control crowds, protecting valuables and performing other duties
- Assist other emergency medical personnel with administering Advanced Life Support
- Communicate with first responders regarding patients' vital statistics
- Maintain office, medical equipment and supplies
- Complete patient care reports and other documentation
- Comply with applicable policies and procedures, SOPs and medical protocols
- Reporting emergency situations to Manager on Duty and General Manager
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and witness interviews
- Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
- Manage break schedules
- Comply and enforce all Palace Entertainment policies and procedures
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Must be able to communicate with guests and other employees effectively
- Possesses a valid Health Care Providers Card with CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
- Available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedure
- Maintains thorough knowledge of current EMT standards of care, equipment use, and function.
- Knowledge of rescue and emergency medical principles, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of the hazards and risks of bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner.
- Ability to operate emergency vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance and working hours.
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively to determine safe and proper courses of action; ability to problem-solve and take initiative.
- Ability to perform invasive advanced medical procedures, per level of certification, in emergency situations.
- Ability to professionally and calmly deal with stressful and/or tense situations.
- Ability to file reports using a computer and EMS software.
- Ability to address multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain certifications as required by assignment.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to collaborate with external first responders and emergency personnel.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
- 1-2 years of previous field, ambulance and/or hospital work experience in an emergency care setting required.
- Current EMT Certification/License in the state of Connecticut
- NREMT Certification preferred
- Current CPR Certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to sit for long period of time
- Ability to walk long distances throughout the park
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor setting for long periods of time
- Ability to withstand heat, humidity, direct sun, cold, and other weather elements
- Ability to kneel, stoop, or twist for long periods of time
- Occasional bending, squatting and reaching above shoulders
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 30 pounds
- Ability to lift patients of varying weights and sizes
- Ability to tolerate loud noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments
