Job Summary:
This exempt (salaried) position is responsible for all facility and industrial maintenance activities at the Particle Dynamics St. Louis Hanley site. Typical manufacturing hours are Monday - Thursday, with three shifts. This is the only position in the Maintenance Department and has no direct reports. Normal schedule would be Monday - Friday with on call as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs all maintenance activities (facility and industrial) of the St. Louis site to ensure that safety, quality, compliance, and efficiency objectives are met in a Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical Plant environment. Operation departments include Microencapsulation and Granulation.
- Responsible for calibration program and preventative maintenance program.
- Ensure Safety Compliance to meet company objectives.
- Has in-depth knowledge of compliance with GMP, FDA, EPA, OSHA and other pertinent regulations/guidance documents. Drives overall compliance in these areas.
- Partner with leadership to ensure good quality & GMP practices.
- Direct work priorities and timelines of contractors. Allocate resources to ensure overall goals and timelines are met.
- Trouble shoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, HVAC, etc.
- Remain up to date with regard to Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical industry best practices, market changes, etc.
- Implement and oversee multiple projects.
- Experience writing procedures and policies.
- Ensure every aspect of production and operations meet the highest Quality standards to produce the best finished product quality in compliance with all Maintenance and Facility SOP's and FDA regulations.
Knowledge/skills/education:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong communication skills (speaking and listening), and technical writing.
- Working knowledge of industrial process control equipment.
- Working knowledge of industrial facility infrastructure - compressors, recirculating water systems, conveying systems, fire safety systems, Familiar with NEMA and IEC.
- Organizational ability to simultaneously manage multiple activities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Ability to communicate activities (both wins and losses) effectively at all organizational levels.
- Desire and ability for continued professional growth within Particle Dynamics through technical, business, and behavioral accomplishment.
- Able to administer Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software including generating, closing, and recording work orders to meet cGMP.
- Action oriented, quick learner, self-directed. Demonstrates initiative, ownership, and accountability.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Read and Interpret Electrical and Hydraulic drawings/blueprints.
- Must be able to perform vigorous physical activities including climbing and walking the plant.
- 10 years of industrial maintenance or related experience. 5 years' experience in GMP dosage pharmaceutical environment preferred.
- Prior experience using Maintenance Management Systems.
- Prior experience working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Prior experience with IQ/OQ/PQ and validation strongly preferred.
