The Placery - Bartender

Hyatt Place Pasadena – Bartender    Hyatt Hotel Pasadena is s currently seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and independent-working Bartender to maintain the property beverage service up to brand standards and deliver world class service to all our guests.   Responsibilities: Present menu and answer questions and take food and beverage orders from guests and/or serving staff. Clean bars work areas and tables as well as glasses utensils and bar equipment. Follow safety procedures while using a sharp knife, toaster, ovens, and other food preparation tools and appliances. Maintain a safe facility and use safety first practices to remain accident-free. Has a working knowledge of the wine list, and all beverages served: spirits, beers, wines by-the-glass, after dinner drinks, non-alcoholic offerings and coffee & tea options. Knowledge of spirits/beer selection. Create drink recipes. Has full knowledge and understanding of the menu. Understands the operation of the POS system. Prepare appetizers and food items according to recipes and standards. Create drink recipes. Ensures tips are reported properly for tax processing. Attempts to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as discontinuing alcohol service and notifying management of potential problem(s Maintains presence behind the bar. Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times. Clean and wipe chairs, tables, beverage area, and bar area. Personable and great people skills.   Qualifications Previous bartending experience preferred Must meet legal age requirements for the position. Food handler certification required RBS certification required TIPS certified   Work Environment: Ability to multi-task and handle high pressure situations. Requires the ability to lift and carry object weighing up to 35 pounds. Occasional lifting of 45 lbs. or more (tables, kegs, chairs).
