What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Administrator position at Pascua Yaqui Tribe?
The Housing Administrator is accountable to the Executive Director and Deputy Director for the management of Housing Operations, manage, and supervise housing administration staff to achieve tribal housing goals and objectives. The incumbent is responsible for making recommendations to the Housing leadership, developing, and implementing initiatives, setting the tone, climate and communicating Housing’s vision for the Tribe, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities and directives.
AND
- Supervise staff to include prioritize and assign work, conduct performance evaluations, ensure staff are trained, ensure employees follow policies and procedures, maintain healthy and safe working environments, and make hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
- In conjunction with Housing Leadership, develop, implement, and evaluate housings strategic program objectives, policies, and procedures; interpret and apply policies and procedures.
- Increase senior management’s effectiveness by providing guidance, communicating goals, strategies, and objectives.
- Meet with Department/managers and community leaders to examine community needs regarding the development of long-term programs, goals and objectives and the evaluation of department operations.
- Provide leadership and direction in the development of projects; direct programs, allocate resources, and evaluate cost efficiency.
- Confer with Housing Leadership to discuss the conditions and needs of the community; prepare reports, recommendations, and/or responds to inquiries and requests for information including the IHP, Indian Housing Plan.
- Represent the tribe on/at a variety of local, state, and national boards, advisory groups, committees, task forces, and public events.
- Manage all social media platforms for housing, including promotional material and supplies
- Record and monitor oversight meetings to meet the needs of Tribal Council and department.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions.

- Experience with tribal government is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License;
- Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination
