Assistant Director of Operations

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Operations is responsible for the technical services of the laboratory, including quality of testing and testing personnel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Monitor and evaluate histology operations and monitor trends to assure optimal quality, efficiency, productivity, and turnaround times.
• Ensure that all systems, processes, and procedures employed provide the required quality, responsiveness, and efficiency required for all aspects of pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of the testing process, including coordination and documentation of overall Quality Management Program.
• Assist the Director in short- and long-range planning for capital equipment, staffing and laboratory processes to ensure that future needs are met.
• Represent ADPA at enterprise meetings for quality and safety.
• Coordinate new employee on-boarding and training with Histology Manager.
• Communicate with Pathologists, marketing and sales, and senior leadership regarding laboratory issues.
• Support PathGroup's mission, vision, goals and management decisions.
• Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.
• Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry's best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.
• Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work with other departments within PathGroup and subsidiaries.
• Nothing in the job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

EDUCATION & LICENSURE:

• Bachelor's degree is required
• ASCP certification as an HT or HTL is required
• Minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience in a histology laboratory is required.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIERMENTS:

• Minimum of one year of previous health care environment/job-related experience is preferred.
