Duties & Responsibilities
- Daily care of boarded and PSC-owned horses including feeding, watering & brushing.
- Maintenance of pasture, fence lines, barn, and draft horse equipment.
- Arrange for regular veterinary and farrier care.
- Oversee student work study employees.
- Arrange for horse care coverage as needed.
- Record and deposit vouchers and invoices.
- Support the PSC Draft Horse Club.
- Demonstrate proficiency safely driving and working with draft horses.
- Assist with admissions and campus events using the College horses.
- Work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive campus community.
- While the horse barn manager will be the primary care provider, they will have the assistance of 2-4 student employees totaling a maximum of 10 hours per week.
- Forestry department resources including truck, tractor, and trailer for moving horses, feed and equipment.
- Access to restricted “barn/draft horse” account for capital improvements and major expenditures.
