Pawmetto Lifeline is a private not for profit organization. We are an animal advocacy organization offering educational and medical programs for pets with a focus on pet retention. FT Nursery Manager
The Nursery Manager reports to Shelter Medicine Director & Director of Operations.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, hours may vary depending on the needs of the nursery.
Hours: 40 per week
Job Responsibilities:
- Take photos of all puppies and kittens upon intake through the nursery
- Maintain an organized workspace.
- Restock supplies as needed.
- Follow all medical protocols as directed by the Shelter Medicine Director or Director of Operations.
- Follow all cleaning protocols as instructed.
- Maintain a positive working environment with all volunteers.
- Communicate effectively with the Volunteer Manager regarding volunteer needs or concerns.
- · Ability to communicate with the public and co-workers in a professional, pleasant, courteous, tactful, and effective manner always.
- · Ability to learn various breed identifications of dogs and cats.
- Create volunteer schedule as needed, especially during kitten season.
- Gather and organize supplies for fosters that are picking up new fosters.
- Oversee bottle-feeding instruction for new bottle-feeding fosters.
- Communicate all medical concerns to the Shelter Medicine Director.
- Ensuring medication is administered as directed to any animals under the care of the nursery.
- Maintaining appropriate stock of necessary inventory items and communicating when an order is needed.
- Keeping accurate written documentation to include documenting the animal’s identification number and microchip.
- Ensuring that every pet is scanned for a microchip prior to leaving with a foster.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting, walking, ability to lift 50lbs occasionally.
