Quality Technician

Summary/Objective

Responsible for working alongside production employees so that the quality of the product is verified and remains consistent. Also responsible for verifying the recipe and quality of product being blended and for pulling samples of finished product to be tested in house and by third parties.

Key Responsibilities

• · Reset metal detector at beginning of the shift, test every hour during shift to verify it is functioning properly
• · Document LOT number of totes as they are used, and start time
• · Check the jar sealer at the beginning of every tote to verify it is working properly
• · Change the expiration date and LOT number on the lid printer as needed
• · Pull at least four sample jars while running each tote to verify the torque of the lid and the weight of the jar
• · Pull all needed samples per shift of per product for further testing
• · Watch the production line as it runs looking for high caps, damaged jars etc. and verify the correct label is being used
• · Place empty totes on a pallet so they can be removed from production area
• · Document LOT numbers used in blending area
• · Verify the recipe used when blending i.e. the specific ingredients and amounts used
• · Pull samples from finished product after blending for testing
• · Ensure sanitation is being conducted correctly
• · Will have to conduct ATP swabs, along with sanitation line inspections to ensure cleanliness.
• · May have to conduct environmental swabs
• · Enforcing adherence to GMPs
• · Incoming raw ingredient inspections
• · Incoming label inspections
• · Glass and brittle plastic inspections
• · Audit prep inspections and walkthroughs

Requirements

• · High School Diploma or equivalent
• · Must have reliable transportation
• · Must have complete flexibility in work hours
• · HACCP, SQF, or relevant Food Safety training and certification Preferred but not required
• · Proficient with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• · Experience with computer / tablet applications

Physical Requirements

• · Must be able to stand/walk climb ladders etc. for prolonged periods
• · Must be able to lift and carry 25lbs Some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending.
• · Must be able to obtain a forklift license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
