What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Maintenance Technician position at Pearson Construction?
This is a skilled position requiring a strong dedication to safety, quality, professional and efficient decision-making skills, teamwork, and desire to learn. This position is responsible for general maintenance and functionality for all company facilities in and around the Wichita, KS area. Specialty tools are provided to complete larger jobs.
Essential Duties
- Support a culture that promotes safety as top priority while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and company regulatory policies and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures with experience using basic tools.
- Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, lighting, electrical, and fence repair.
- Periodically inspect buildings and systems to identify any issues.
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve in a timely manner.
- Maintain logs of work and report on issues.
- Self-motivated and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to working with others.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
1-2 years of previous experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be well-organized and have ability to prioritize tasks.
Valid Drivers License.
