What are the responsibilities and job description for the FLEET SAFETY MANAGER position at Peco Foods?
The Fleet Safety Manager is responsible for safe fleet operations and compliance requirements for both vehicles and personnel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct all responsibilities in a manner that aligns with Peco's vision, mission and core values.
- Monitor Drivers list; informing drivers when license and DOT Physical are due.
- Responsible for all recruiting, screening, and hiring of company CDL drivers for the assigned.
- Prepare motor vehicle reports on all CDL drivers checking for violations and disqualifications.
- Prepare yearly motor vehicle reports on all CDL and non-CDL drivers checking for violations and disqualifications.
- Enforce Drug Testing Policy. Conduct random federal drug and alcohol tests on all CDL drivers.
- Conduct non-federal drug tests quarterly on all CDL and non-CDL drivers at assigned locations and monitor assigned locations to make sure enough testing supplies are on hand for all employees each time.
- Order and document all out of state permits, logbooks, post-trip books, and safety manuals.
- Process all DOT roadside citations and all tickets for the driver points system.
- Investigate all calls from the public on damage caused by Peco to their property or vehicles.
- Investigate all CDL and non-CDL accidents.
- Manage all workers' compensation claims for the assigned locations.
- Supply all managers with monthly safety training and compliance in the fleet maintenance and safety department.
- Responsible for animal welfare and biosecurity training and compliance in the fleet maintenance and safety department.
- Handles and ensures all employees handle various chemicals, vaccines, and medication safely.
- Maintain adequate staffing.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations.
Physical Demands:
- Working in a normal room environment, outside environment, and in hot, cold, humid and dusty conditions.,
- Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.
- Physically able to climb a ladder at various heights.
