Roles & Responsibilities
As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the Pediatric Center for Wellness. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management. The goal is to execute the pediatric triage experience for each family with excellence.
- Triage patients appropriately, document charts in preparation for scheduled examinations.
- Assist providers during medical examinations, as appropriate.
- Engage with parents, identify primary concerns and document.
- Perform vision and hearing screening, as necessary.
- Document medical records and support patient requests for completion of critical forms for school/camp/sport physicals and medical record requests.
- Familiarization with Vaccines for Children and GRITS inventory management
- Restock exam rooms, laboratory areas and maintain equipment.
- Assist with securing referrals and making specialist or test appointments
- Relay messages as may be required by physicians
- Obtain blood samples and patient vitals and run laboratory tests
- Additional duties, as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Registered Medical Assistant
- Certified Medical Assistant
Preferred
- 1 year of Pediatric Out-Patient Experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and EMR software
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Recent MA School graduates may be considered
Salary : $15 - $17
