What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Medical Assistant position at Pediatrics Unlimited?
We are seeking a dedicated, personable, friendly, outgoing Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team/family for our afternoon shifts in a relaxed work environment at an independent pediatric practice. Main hours are three afternoons/week, good for side job situation. Fast learner, experience with children, and flexible schedule - a must!
Main responsibilities relate to pediatric health care for patients from newborn to 21 years of age.
Clinical tasks:
-Taking medical histories
-Taking vital signs
-Performing simple laboratory tests
-Administering vaccines to babies and children
-Use of electronic medical records are required.
Secondary duties:
-Coordinating front desk activities
-Answering and redirecting phone calls
-Patient scheduling.
Requirements:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant certification
- Prior experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and physiology
- Proficiency in administering injections and performing routine clinical procedures
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Enthusiasm and solid work ethic needed particularly for the following shifts: Mondays 3:30pm-7pm; Wednesdays & Thursdays 8:30am-5pm; and Saturdays (2-3 per month) 8:30am-12:30pm. Opportunities available for additional hours (morning) when needed.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 16 per week
