Job Title: Home Retention Counselor - Bilingual
Location: Harrisburg, PA (PHFA Headquarters)
Job Purpose:
The Home Retention Counselor will handle a queue of Non-FHA loans that are 15 days delinquent. They will make every effort to contact the borrower in order to obtain payments and explain possible loss mitigation options. This role will assist the team with the responsibilities listed below
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain an auto queue of Non-FHA and FHA accounts that are 15-60 days delinquent; make outgoing calls and take incoming calls through a designated phone queue with a minimum requirement of 160 calls per day
- Notate servicing system of all activity on each account
- Update borrower information in system as applicable
- Send letters and emails encouraging the borrower to contact PHFA
- Monitor the collection voicemail box. Return voicemail calls to borrower in a timely manner
- Work the NSF (non-sufficient funds) queue
- Assist with Bilingual calls and voicemails. Translate letters and emails when needed
- Research designated websites for a current phone number or address for a borrower as needed
- Maintain a neat and organized work area
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Default
- Must work one (1) evening per week (Monday through Thursday - work hours that day are from 10:30 am - 7 pm).
Education and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Candidates with associate or bachelor’s degrees encouraged to apply!
- Accurate data entry and typing skills with a minimum proficiency of 45-60 words per minute.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required for this position
