Description
Duties: Under the supervision of the Inventory Control Specialist, the Internal Company Driver is responsible for the following:
- Pickup and delivery of mail, supplies, and deposits throughout the District per schedule.
- Performing routine safety checks on the delivery vehicle including pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and immediately reporting all vehicle maintenance issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the delivery vehicle.
- Unloading large truckloads of supplies using a variety of equipment.
- Performing inventory checks for adjustments.
- Working in the stockroom as required including stocking shelves, pulling goods for delivery, and assisting in inventory control.
- Performing receiving duties including signing for orders, checking goods for accuracy, and communicating with District employees to schedule deliveries.
- Performing other warehouse duties as needed including cleaning and customer service.
- Assisting with fleet vehicles which consists of preparing vehicles for check-out to staff and processing check-in when staff returns.
- Assisting with compiling, placing, and delivering orders for non-stock supplies (ex. special orders, concession supplies, resale supplies, etc.) used throughout the District.
- Assisting with shipping goods as requested via UPS, U.S. Mail, or FedEx.
- Following all safety procedures established by the District and pertaining to his or her duties.
- Performing other duties as assigned:
- which are reasonably related to the duties described; or
- which need to be performed promptly to avoid safety hazards or to protect Park District property; or
- which are not generally described in other job descriptions; or
- when the amount of work exceeds the availability of Park District employees within the appropriate job classification.
Essential Functions: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification: Must be able to maintain forklift certification
Experience: Minimum of one year warehouse/delivery experience.
Knowledge and Ability:
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to drive a light delivery vehicle, operate a forklift and pallet jack, and secure a lift truck operator license.
- Must have a valid State of Illinois driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Must have the ability to perform basic math computations and properly maintain records and files.
- Ability to perform basic computerized data entry and must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- Personal – Work record showing reliability, tact, initiative, and resourcefulness.
- Ability to work harmoniously with the general public and park district personnel in an enthusiastic and cooperative manner both by oral and written media.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, safe and equitable to both internal and external customers.
