Position Purpose:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for Employment, Employee relations, Compensation and Benefits, Training and Development, and Employee Retention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for being a Strategic Business Partner to Peoria Tribe personnel on all human resources related issues.
· Communicate any concerns with personnel to the Tribal Administrator.
· Conducts employee investigations, maintains personnel files, and offers recommendations in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
· Develops and implements human resources programs that support the strategy, goals, and objectives of the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma.
· Will stay abreast of personnel related issues, guides leaders on the interpretation of employee policy and procedures.
· Develops or coordinates training and development programs that meet the needs of the Peoria Tribe as they relate to performance improvement, customer service, satisfaction and employee professional growth and development.
· Establishes performance-based compensation programs that will cover all areas of pay, benefits and training, while creating a work culture that rewards performance and attainment of organizational objectives and goals.
· Establishes recruitment, selection, and promotional programs that support diversity and inclusion in the workforce.
· Develops employee relations programs that support the retention of solid performers and coaching and counseling employees in a fair and respectful manner.
· Hires, trains, and manages employees in accordance with Peoria Tribe department and organization policies and programs.
· Proactively performing employee feedback sessions to gauge workplace satisfaction and to provide feedback to the Director of Human Resources and Chief.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· Must be able to work with high volumes of confidential information in a professional manner.
· Must be detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be able to analyze situations and have a high level of emotional intelligence.
· Critical that this position be a team player.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills a must.
· Proficiency with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet.
Certifications:
· Valid Driver’s License and Insurance.

· Adhere to all work rules, policies & procedures, and safety standards.
Work Requirements:
Position involves prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 30 pounds on a daily basis. Work is generally performed in an office environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
