What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cloud Engineer position at Peraton?
The Cloud Engineer provides technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies and expert advice to the program, and related cloud computing architectures. Masters or Higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar relevant field.
What you will do:
- Experience working in an Agile IT environment establishing a cloud-based technology in a government provided hybrid cloud environment with security, performance, operability, and scale for customers utilizing AIMSS technology.
- Drive technical design through collaboration with leads and product owners to understand solution requirements and identify architectural patterns.
- Help other development and engineering teams resolve application to platform integration issues for Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) services.
- Offer a thorough understanding of ML, data analysis, data visualization, and event-driven architectures. Collaborate with end-users to optimize integration and user-experience.
- Develops cloud reference architectures in support of customer requirements. IA certification IAW DoD Instruction 8570.01M required.
Qualifications
Master’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering and 10 years of experience or PHD and 7 years of experience.
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate must have a strong understanding of data Center operations, and applications used to store, retrieve and secure MDA sensitive data.
The candidate must:
- Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset
- Be a US citizen
- Be able to work from the customer facility on a regular basis unless customer approved to work outside the local area
- Have a minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above
Other Qualifications:
An additional plus is experience with enterprise IT solutions, cloud migration, DevSecOps, agile software development and application design, integration, testing and deployment.
Security Requirements:
Ability to obtain Interim Secret Clearance. Active Secret Clearance preferred

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
