Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a senior Cloud Architect SME for a large Defense Agency contract. Responsibilities are but not limited to:

• Serve as the advisor for all aspects of cloud work performed on the program
• Provide support in mission applications planning and strategy by focusing on functional applications capabilities and maturity
• Provide technical expertise on cloud computing techniques and technologies and expert advice to the program, and related cloud computing architectures
• Understand customer needs, services and core missions and match them with best-in-class technology to define a north-star target state
• Help to define prioritization and sequencing of the applications migration and integration by proposing a strategic roadmap that leads to the target state
• Lead key discussions around program cloud efforts from both business and technical perspectives
• Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics for clients in research and production areas
• Support and advise on all cloud-related technical activities across the contract, mentor technical staff, and work with senior technical leaders on driving continuous improvement and innovation into overall operations
• Assist customers with data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas, and defining domain specific ontologies, where applicable
• Work with Government leadership and industry partners to help identify and drive innovative solutions resulting in overall improved performance and cost reductions 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have 12 years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations
• Experience as a team lead preferred
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
• Knowledge of all components of technical architecture
• Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
• Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies
• Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems
• Track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing, enterprise environments
• Integration of AWS cloud services with on-premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP etc.
• Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (eg. security, privacy, SOX, HIPPA etc.)
• Current hands-on software development or automation experience preferred; Internet-related business models preferred
• Familiarity with a broad range of enterprise infrastructure and application products, analysis and visualization tools capabilities 

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience managing an enterprise IT contract or TO consisting of 10,000 plus users.
• Experience implementing SLAs and performance metrics on a contract or TO.
• Demonstrated and current experience managing programs using CPAF or CPFF contract types.
• Prior experience managing projects with Government dependencies and the ability to work with these senior customers to resolve complex issues
• Demonstrated experience managing cost, schedule, budget of contract against prioritized mission requirements

• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certification
• Strong knowledge of ISO 20000
