Purpose:

The House Person is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all public areas of the resort, including but not limited to guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public vending areas. The House Person also responds to guest requests promptly to ensure outstanding guest service and assists room attendants in order to maintain Performance Hospitality Management’s high standards of quality.

Essential Function of Job:

  • Clean additional assigned areas including, but not limited to, public restrooms and areas, hallways, stairwells, elevators, offices, pool and banquet/meeting/conference rooms.
  • Stock linen closets with amenities and supplies for room attendants; may include taking supplies directly to room attendants.
    Complete a range of cleaning tasks including, but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, cleaning windows, removing and disposing of trash, insects and debris and emptying ashtrays.
  • Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash.
  • Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors. Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells, vending areas, and foyers. Perform deep cleaning tasks such as cleaning/waxing floors and any special projects, as needed.
  • Greet guests in a friendly manner. Assist in delivering guest requests and in cleaning guest rooms, as needed.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length and lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent; at least one (1) year of experience required.

Command of the English language both written and verbal. Well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to work beyond standard hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the guests’ needs. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year hospitality experience.
