Instrument Technician

Description

Perma-Fix is accepting resumes for a full time Instrument Technician at our Instrumentation and Calibration Facility located in Knoxville TN. This individual will be responsible for performing calibration and repairs of portable radiation detection instruments and air sampling devices. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience performing calibration of dose rate instruments using Shepherd Model 89 calibrator. 

Perma-Fix offers a competitive salary based on demonstrated experience. Entry level pay rates range from $20/hr – $22/hr.

Requirements

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Valid Passport

· Valid Driver License

· Criminal Record Check

· Demonstrated ability and understanding of the fundamentals of mathematics and electronics. 

· Demonstrated reading and comprehension level sufficient to follow procedures and prepare calibration reports. 

· Basic computer skills including familiarity MS Office software applications.

· Reasoning – ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

· Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

· Ability to perform repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, wrists and arms.
