Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Medical receptionist training preferred.
Licensure/Certification: N/A
Experience: Experience in a clinical setting, medical office or clinic preferred. Computer experience is required.
Mental/Physical Effort: Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Work performed requires a high degree of concentration and attention to accuracy and detail. Requires the ability to handle pressure and frequent interruptions. Courtesy and tact are required in dealing with patients, family members and hospital personnel. Must possess the ability to get along well and work with many different types of people, sometimes in difficult situations. Must be able to deal with situations which necessitate occasional independent decisions, and also to handle public contact in a manner that reflects credibility to the facility. Must maintain a positive attitude. Must be able to lift 20 pounds or more. Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity, and the ability to distinguish letters or symbols. Requires the ability to use office equipment, such as computer terminals, typewriters, calculators, telephones, and copiers. Requires normal vision range, and corrected hearing to a normal range. Requires working under a variety of conditions, and occasionally working irregular hours.
