What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Designer position at PFLOW INDUSTRIES, INC?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
1. Creates 2D AutoCAD General Arrangement drawings from written product information
2. Determines best design for the customers’ application based on provided documentation, customer quotation, additional information and product knowledge
3. Visualizes the complete product design based on customer information, sketches and drawings to create 2D AutoCAD General Arrangement drawings
4. Completes all drawings according to the customer requirements, design schedule and in accordance with company standards, procedures, policies, codes, regulations and best engineering practices
5. Utilizes standard PFlow product lines and knowledge of metal fabrication, assembly and interactions between lift components to create drawings that provide the best solutions to the customers’ specific application
6. Calculates the specific lift parameters from the baseline product for the customers’ particular application
7. Discusses and resolves project issues and concerns in partnership with Project Management and/or Sales Departments
8. Provides design details to Product Engineering team members
9. Participates in the resolution of any design errors that may arise and contributes to the refinement and development of departmental processes
10. Works safely and follows all company safety rules
11. Primary focus of all business-related efforts is and must remain that of promoting excellence in all PFlow products.
