What are the responsibilities and job description for the RFID Technician position at Phenix Label Company, Inc.?
Position Summary:
Phenix Label is seeking a skilled RFID Technician to conduct testing, trials, data collection, and process development for RFID projects. The role will be the subject matter expert and supports manufacturing, sales, and other departments, and involves both technical and collaborative tasks under the R&D team’s guidance.
Critical Objectives & Outcomes/Essential Functions:
1. Setting Up & Maintenance:
- Work with quality and manufacturing to set up and establish best practices for RFID testing and converting. Including related hardware and software to successfully develop protocols and standards for RFID.
- Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory equipment.
- Set up and conduct tests; modify equipment as needed.
- Manage inventory and order supplies; handle materials up to 50 lbs.
2. Testing & Research:
- Develop best practices SOP for testing and research
- Conduct and document testing for R&D projects.
- Participate in field trials; collect and analyze data.
- Generate samples using various pilot or benchtop equipment.
- Assist with production trials and resolve testing issues.
3. Observing, Recordkeeping & Evaluating:
- Prepare and submit written, graphical reports and presentations as needed for customer and opportunities.
- Analyze test results; recommend improvements.
- Document trial details and create specifications as needed.
4. Safety:
- Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Attend safety training and participate in safety initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Education: Associate Degree in Science or Engineering Technology (Technical Certification preferred). Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years in documented RFID technology. (RFID-specific education in lieu of one-year work experience)- This covers technical students who worked the RFID labs or did summer work in RFID
- Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and function-specific software, strong mathematical and analytical skills, good communication skills. Strong technical knowledge of RFID hardware and software
