Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Purchasing Manager. This is a key role in the efficiency of our Food & Beverage Department. This position accepts and checks in Food and Beverage orders, distributes product to storage locations, and fills requisition requests. This position manages the receipt, storage, and distribution of food and beverage products at both the Chestnut Hill Clubhouse and the Flourtown Clubhouse.
Assistant Purchasing Manager supports the kitchen porter in receiving goods and filling requisitions. This includes checking on quality of items received and maintaining organization of items once in house.
Responsibilities
- Receive deliveries of beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverage and food
- Use company van to pick up liquor and wine orders from the Wine and Spirts store and deliver to the respective clubhouse and proper storage location.
- Verify product received matches invoices. Make notes on any returns/credits.
- Record invoices on monthly spreadsheets for weekly Food Cost.
- Assist in calculating weekly food cost.
- Scan invoices to appropriate departments.
- Complete order forms for kitchen storerooms at both campuses.
- Move food/beverage product to proper storage location maintaining FIFO.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food and beverage storage areas.
- Check to make sure products are in date and of good quality in storerooms. This includes proper storage techniques.
- Fill requisition requests for various food & beverage outlets across campuses.
- Notify Purchasing Manager of any discrepancies in product.
- Assist with end-of-month beverage/food inventory.
- Help manage Dining Edge including scanning invoices, approving invoices and engaging new items through system.
- Purchase food items through Dining Edge when Manager is out of office.
Experience
- Significant Food and Beverage or Culinary experience.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Strong organizational skills and communication skills.
- ·Ability to move / carry bottles, cases, kegs to various areas of campus which could include up or down stairs. Able to lift upwards of 40-50lbs(kegs/produce/etc.)
- Computer skills including typing, navigational and data entry.
- Understanding product goods and where they come from. Looking for best price/quality.
Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: 38 – 45 per week
