We're looking for a creative and engaged Teacher to work in our Infant classroom. Bodel provides small classroom size with excellent ratios (3:1 for infant children) that enable children to have individualized attention and focused exploration. Our teachers are encouraged to create learning experiences for their children that are attuned to their developmental needs, which provides a freedom of expression for everyone. Our curriculum is an emergent curriculum using the ELDS. Within that framework, teachers are given the opportunity to explore various approaches, including Reggio, as their own interests and professional development grow.
Bodel uses a Co-Teacher model in our classrooms. Together, each classroom team is responsible for the overall management, leadership, and education of the children and families in their classroom. They plan, lead, adhere to, and implement classroom curriculum and activities in accordance with the Center's Mission statement, philosophy, guiding principles, policies, and procedures and in accordance with NAEYC, state licensing, and program standards and regulations, especially in regard to classroom space, staffing, and procedures. They guide and promote the development of children and ensure effective and efficient use of classroom resources. Duties include but are not limited to observation and assessment, communication with families, meeting with supervisors, families, and coworkers, and the development of lesson plans.
To be considered for this position, a candidate must have at least an Associates degree in ECE, Human/Child Development or a related field with two years' work experience in early childhood education, OR a Bachelor's degree in ECE, Human/Child Development, or a related field with one year work experience in early childhood education. Salary is commensurate with level of education. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
