What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Engineer position at Picone?
- Work within a team of professionals in developing civil engineering plans and specification for projects
- Assist in producing design/construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents
- Help to communicate and coordinate technical evaluations and designs, technical writing of reports and correspondence with Project Manager and design team to complete work efficiently
- Support team in completing tasks within budget and on schedule
- Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards & regulations
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering (or similar) Bachelor’s degree program as rising Junior or Senior
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Availability to commit to our team for 12 weeks
- A basic understanding of the working concepts of Civil projects
- Ability to understand basic project components and analyze schematics such as engineering drawings and specs; estimates, change orders, and schedules.
- Strong technical skills: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Organizational ability – able to plan, prioritize, organize and monitor activities and projects. Able to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach.
