Since acquiring the 1,200-acre former Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in 2000, PIDC has managed its transformation into a thriving mixed-use campus on the Delaware River. Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Navy Yard team is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and pragmatic intern for Summer 2025. The successful candidate will work closely with the Navy Yard Analyst & Project Manager and the Director of Leasing & Development to advance projects and strategic initiatives. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

GIS & Mapping:

• Prepare PIDC for GIS conversion by organizing archived files in various formats (e.g., CADD, PDF, paper). Assist in developing and implementing a strategy to examine, determine usefulness, and create a filing system to organize and archive these files as applicable.
• Update maps of critical assets such as elevation mapping, Keystone Opportunity Zones (KOZ), historic zones, and the campus directory map in their current format.
• Support the kick-off of the GIS conversion project, which will be led by a third-party consultant and managed by the Analyst & Project Manager.

Planning & Real Estate:

• Support Salesforce data entry and reporting.
• Support the real estate team and campus activities to prepare for residents.
• Assist in various planning studies.
• Assist in prospecting potential funding opportunities.
• Support external partnership tours and meetings.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Undergraduate or graduate student with relevant work experience and/or coursework in GIS, spatial analysis, geography, urban studies, urban planning, real estate, engineering, architecture, facilities management, or community development.
• Demonstrated experience with Excel, Customer Relation Management software (preferably Salesforce), and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic knowledge of GIS is required.
• Some CADD and/or Adobe Creative Suite experience is highly encouraged but not required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
