Piggly Wiggly Alabama Distributing Company is seeking a Security Officer who will be responsible for deterring criminal activity by adhering to the company’s security procedures. Their duties include reviewing video surveillance equipment, patrolling the interior and exterior of the property in set intervals, and only providing property access to authorized vehicles and individuals.
Job Summary:
The Security Officer will protect the company’s property, employees and visitors.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitors Security video surveillance and alarm systems and reports anomalies to Supervisor.
- Monitors alarm systems and investigate alarm reports.
- Disburses driver reimbursement cash under supervision of the shift Supervisor.
- Preforms countdown of monies.
- Vetting of visitors, and employees without badges.
- Make periodic rounds through the facility and grounds.
- Responds to incidents.
- Updates records as required.
- Provides assistance and basic first aid to persons in distress.
- Performs general office duties and other tasks as assigned.
- Performs other security related duties as assigned.
- Perform Guard House Duties which includes:
o Relieving Guard House officers for meals, breaks, etc.
o Always maintaining situational awareness to prevent vehicle collisions and injury.
o Following procedures to admit access to authorized vehicles and personnel.
o Check outbound PWADC trucks for proper seal, and vendor trucks for proper loads.
o Direct inbound vehicle traffic efficiently to maximize safety and minimize gridlock while ensuring the proper dock assignments are communicated to the correct truck drivers.

Education and Experience:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Should have at least a year of related work experience.
- Prefer applicants who have worked in the police force or the army or those who have previous experience as a Security Guard, Security Officer or another similar role.
- Candidates should also have demonstrable experience working with security systems, be proficient in Microsoft Office and know how to write reports.

The candidate must also stoop for short periods of time or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required climb up to 20 feet and balance. The employee must frequently lift up to 60 lbs.
