JOB DESCRIPTION
Pilsen Wellness Center, Inc. is a community-based not-for-profit agency that provides culturally sensitive services to a multicultural population with limited financial resources. The agency is comprised of five divisions - Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Youth Services, Early Intervention and Education, which are currently supported through 17 different locations.
We are currently seeking a Math Teacher to join the Latino Youth High School Located at 2001 S. California Ave., Chicago IL 60608.
Latino Youth High School (LYHS) offers Chicago area students a second chance to obtain a high school diploma. Our charter school incorporates a student-centered approach emphasizing individualized instruction coupled with additional support services such as parenting groups for young mothers, counseling, and leadership development. LYHS provides a safe, respectful, and gang-neutral environment to young persons who have not found success in larger, more traditional schools. Latino Youth High School is a campus of the Youth Connection Charter Schools with additional funding and services provided by the Alternative Schools Network.

DUTIES AND RESOPONSIBILITES:
This Mathematics Instructor will provide meaningful and engaging instruction and assessment in mathematics based upon Common Core standards for the content area (i.e. Algebra). Experience with project-based instruction, computer programming, or STEM education is a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
Mathematics (9-12) endorsement
ESL endorsement or Spanish speaking highly preferred
Teaching experience, Bachelor’s Degree required.
This is a salary based position.
