Job Summary
Administers the Public Works Department's County Road Right Of Way permit program for permitted construction. traffic control, and parking with the County Road Right of Way. This involves permit application intake, coordination with permitees, tracking of permit fees and bonds, and regular field inspection of open permits. Additionally the position installs temporary road counters on all County roads within Pitkin County and then processes the data to create traffic reports.
Job Responsibilities
- Administers the County Road Right of Way (ROW) permit program including permit application intake, coordination with permitees, tracking of permit fees and bonds, and regular field inspection of open permits
- Implements the County Road traffic count program by installing temporary traffic counters throughout the County
- Processes the data generated by the temporary traffic counters
- Manages and updates the ROW Permit and Traffic Count Spreadsheets
- Conducts road audits and periodic checks for ongoing work needs and assessment
- Researches right-of-way and property
- Collects and inputs GIS data
- Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff
- Maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- At least 1 year experience in construction or planning preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Physical Demands and Working Environment
