What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Analyst position at Pitkin County?
Administers the County Road Right of Way (ROW) permit program including permit application intake, coordination with permitees, tracking of permit fees and bonds, and regular field inspection of open permits
Implements the County Road traffic count program by installing temporary traffic counters throughout the County
Processes the data generated by the temporary traffic counters
Manages and updates the ROW Permit and Traffic Count Spreadsheets
Conducts road audits and periodic checks for ongoing work needs and assessment
Researches right-of-way and property
Collects and inputs GIS data
Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff
Maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information
Performs other duties as required or assigned
At least 1 year experience in construction or planning preferred
High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Knowledge Of:
Safety policies, procedures, and practices for basic construction industry standards
Inventory management methods and practices
Personal protective equipment and proper use
Equipment troubleshooting methods
General maintenance practice and procedures
Skill In:
Organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks
Handling multiple tasks simultaneously, under pressure, and in emergency and stressful situations
Microsoft Office Products and Google Suite
Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing

Operating tools and equipment safely
Work is typicaly performed in a standard office environment with regular work activities performed outdoors with exposure to various temperatures and weather conditions and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and heights.
