Essential Functions
- Analyze requests of staff and students to determine needed information and assist in furnishing or locating information.
- Teach library patrons to search for information using databases.
- Keep records of circulation and materials in Destiny database.
- Explain use of library facilities, resources, equipment, and services, and provide information about library policies to stakeholders.
- Code, classify, and catalog books, publications, films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard library classification systems.
- Develop information access aids such as indexes and annotated bibliographies, web pages, electronic pathfinders, and on-line tutorials.
- Plan and deliver client-centered programs and services, storytelling for children, newsletters, or programs.
- Organize collections of books, publications, documents, audiovisual aids, and other reference materials for convenient access.
- Collaborate with teachers across contents to co-teach lessons and/or provide resources to enhance student learning.
- Provides a safe environment for students.
- Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with building and district staff.
- Other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor in support of the department's or school's goals and objectives and the District's mission and Superintendent's Priority Goals
- Bachelor's Degree
DETERMINE CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE OR INSERT REQUIREMENTS
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Instructional Certification in Library Science
