Plastic Express operates from 18 warehouse locations and 37 rail terminals across the US. At many of the Plastic Express sites, we also handle some Non-plastic commodities, which include; paper rolls, steel, building materials and other dry bulk materials. Plastic Express owns and operates roughly 190 trucks, with approximately 227 trailers performing full bulk truck distribution business. Plastic Express is headquartered in City of Industry, CA and has over 500 employees nationwide. Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, this position is responsible. for maintaining an ongoing relationship with selected accounts and developing the required plans to grow these selected accounts. In addition this position is responsible for identifying key target markets and accounts, developing a sales strategy for each account, presenting this strategy to the management team, and implementing the agreed upon strategy.

Qualifications:  Previous 3 to 5 years in sales & marketing experience is required, 4 year college degree preferred in supply chain/logistic management. General knowledge of the Plastic Producers, Distributors and Trader Industry is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communications and organizational skills are required. Must be multi-task oriented with the ability to handle many activities simultaneously. Recognizes the importance of establishing strong relationships at all levels within a customer and always places the highest priority on complete customer satisfaction.

Duties:

Account Management

  • Develop a strong relationship with each account at as many levels as possible within the organization of each account
  • Develop pricing strategy for each account while balancing market conditions, Plastic Express’ objectives, and customer relationship & satisfaction
  • Identify call/contact account priority based on both the customer and Plastic Express’ requirements
  • Complete market research and analysis, market players, market share, capacities, competitive landscape and locations for those markets that are assigned. 

Market Development

  • Identify key new markets for Plastic Express to service and grow
  • Identify the top accounts in these new markets
  • Identify the accounts that will be targeted
  • Develop a strategy for each targeted account
  • Complete market research and analysis, market competition, market share, capabilities, locations,and pros and cons for each targeted account

Pricing and Contracts

  • Responsible for identifying market pricing as it relates to each account and coordinating with the management team the pricing strategy at each account
  • Prepares for approval and delivers approved pricing and contracts for each account
  • Creates pricing contracts, agreements, and addendums as needed for each account
  • Maintains all customer contact reports, call reports, pricing, contracts, agreements, addendums and other correspondence

Reports

  • Responsible for contact management reports monthly
  • Customer Call Reports to be completed as required
  • Maintain all customer contact reports, call reports, pricing, contracts, agreements, addendums and other correspondence
  • Develop annual sales plan
