The Maintenance PLC Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all company equipment, including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control devices.
Essential Job Functions – Maintenance
Full-Time 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday
Will have call out hours; 4 hour minimum pay per call out on off hours (nights and/or weekends) work.
Some mandatory overtime required.
Be available via phone occasionally to answer questions during off hours.
SALARY RANGE
$35.00 -$40.00 per hour DOE

The Maintenance PLC Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all company equipment, including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control devices.
Essential Job Functions – Maintenance
- Hands-on experience identifying and fixing electrical issues.
- Maintain all equipment and machinery; schedule and perform preventative maintenance.
- Observe equipment while being operated to detect potential problems.
- The goal is for most down time to be planned.
- Complete tooling changes as requested by management.
- Use of basic hand tools, portable power tools, stationary power tools and machines frequently.
- Participate in new equipment installation and other one-time projects as necessary.
- Ensure the maintenance area is kept neat and orderly.
- Follow all safety precautions and procedures.
- Will have on call hours.
- Must have excellent attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Program new and existing PLC controls (Allen Bradley – Compactlogix, Micrologix)
- Support production by troubleshooting and programming existing and new plant automation equipment.
- Programming of robots and touching up points as needed to support production needs.
- Working with production to optimize line flow, cycle time issues and quality concerns through changes in programming or troubleshooting of controls.
- Minimum of 5 years related electrical maintenance technician experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience troubleshooting and programming PLC.
- Must have a thorough understanding and proficiency with programming, diagnosing, and repairing PLC’s (Allen Bradley), robotics, and other automation controls.
- Mechanical repair and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Ability to follow work instructions.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to identify and source vendors to repair equipment and tools if repairs cannot be done in-house.
- Basic math skills.
- Mig welding experience a plus.
- Understands OSHA requirements.
- Lock out/Tag out.
- Must live within a 20-minute drive from Elkhart, Indiana.
- Lift, bend and maneuver up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and/or squatting.
- Ability to work in a noisy, hot, dirty, non-climate-controlled environment with non-toxic fumes.
- Work in a confined and/or restricted working environment.
