Dermatology & Laser of Del Mar is a small boutique-style clinic, looking for a cosmetic consultant/medical assistant with dermatology and cosmetic treatment experience.

This is a part-time position for full shifts 2-3 days a week. The clinic is open 8am-5pm M-F.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Perform facials, chemical peels & Diamond Glow procedures as directed by a physician.
- Room patients, thoroughly explain treatment, expected results, and potential risks, and obtain patient signature on appropriate consents.
- Educate patients about our services and skincare products.
- Be available for patient consultation at the request of the physician.
- Assist patients in skincare product selection.
- Follow up with patients after treatment.
- Document patient and treatment information.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Wash and sterilize supplies, instruments, and equipment daily.
- Set up, clean, and disinfect the aesthetician's room daily.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory and ordering of products and samples.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Board Certified Aesthetician in the State of California
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Aesthetician in a medical office or MedSpa is required.
- Someone with strong cosmetic experience is required.
- Knowledge of medical dermatology terms/CPT, ICD-10.
- Knowledge of cosmetic products, procedures, and terminology.
- Quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and co-workers.
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
- Experience working on electronic medical records.
- Valid driver's license.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
