Viking Excavation, Inc. is Hiring an Excavation Project Manager Near Cedar City, UT

Description
The Project Manager would work primarily in our office located in Cedar City, Utah and is responsible for bidding, estimating, planning, coordinating, and determining labor and material costs for each project. This role involves managing project teams, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and delivering projects within budget and schedule constraints. Pay will depend on experience. We do offer competative wages with paid vacations, paid holidays, and company match up to 3% to retirement account.
Responsibilities
Including but not limited to the list below.
•Budget and cash management for the project.
•Coordinate with Project Foreman on project schedule, project procedures, staffing requirements, and equipment resources needed to complete accurate and timely project production.
•Estimating and bidding of projects.
•Review project documents, plans, and specifications to ensure a complete scope of work is understood and accounted for in the estimate, takeoffs, and budgets.
•Work with the owner to resolve specification and scheduling issues.
•Report and document changes to each job including change orders, submittals, change of plan set, changes to work orders due to the change order, and any other change to the original contract.
•Coordinate all pre-construction design, approval, and requirements with municipalities, 3rd party engineering firms, and project owners.
•Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule.
•Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites.
•Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Project Foreman to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
•Coordinate with Project Foreman to allocate and manage resources to ensure that they are available when they are needed throughout the construction process.
•Creates and presents monthly cost and revenue forecast.
•Ensure project safety reviews and procedures are followed by conducting weekly safety checks and engaging in safety meetings. Supports the safety programs of the project and owner safety programs.
•Lead project closeout procedures.
•Review all aspects of project work and completion.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications:
•(Preferred but not required) Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
•A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager, or in a similar position with experience in underground utilities, civil site work, and heavy civil projects.
•Knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures related to commercial and residential construction.
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels from client, management, to workers and contractors.
•Ability to understand plans and specifications.
•Ability to recognize and correct discrepancies.
•Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
•Goal oriented and organized leadership.
•Ability to manage in a team environment, as well as being able to work independently.
•Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
•Proficient with technology.
•Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to and from work.
Physical Requirements:
•Able and willing to work long hours including the day shift as needed, and work outside of normal hours when needed.
•Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
•Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.
